Impact

At the end of the English Education curriculum, we hope that students will leave Oaklands enriched in the following manner:

• Have a love of reading and language
• Enable independent learning and build resilience
• Encourage respect, tolerance and empathy towards others
• Cultivate independent, profound thinking
• Engender a desire to make a significant contribution towards their role as active citizens and involvement in the immediate and wider community
• Empower them to be articulate, confident speakers
• Hone their ability and skills to reach their full potential.

In addition, students have used success in English to follow a number of university courses both of Literature and Language, as well as forging pathways into high-powered occupations such as law and journalism.
