Homework Enrichment Key Stage 3

Homework refers to tasks given to students by their teachers to be completed outside of usual lessons.

All students at Oaklands have a homework timetable. Homework activities vary significantly, particularly between younger and older students, including but not limited to home reading activities, longer projects or essays and more directed and focused work such as revision for tests.

Our definition also includes activities such as ‘homework clubs’ where students have the opportunity to complete homework in school but outside normal school hours, and ‘flipped learning’ models, where students prepare at home for classroom discussion and application tasks.

It is not unusual for  some students to say they have too much homework or for some parents to say students do not have enough. If your child is  struggling with homework please contact the school. Some students will naturally enjoy a task and are happy to spend more than the guided time,

At Key stage 3 each department provides a range of extension tasks. These can be found by following the links below. The tasks support the curriculum. If you want your child to do a little extra this is a good starting point
