Curriculum Impact
The impact of the computing curriculum is evident through the knowledge, skills and confidence students develop as they progress through the key stages. Students leave as responsible digital citizens who can apply computational thinking to solve problems, create digital solutions and understand the role of technology in society.
- Students become confident and responsible users of technology, with a secure understanding of online safety and cyber security.
- Students demonstrate increasing proficiency in programming, data representation and networking.
- Students apply their knowledge creatively through practical projects, digital media and data analysis tasks.
- Students use subject-specific vocabulary accurately and confidently when discussing computing concepts.
- Students are well prepared for GCSE and A-Level Computer Science, with many choosing to continue studying the subject.
- Students leave the department equipped with the knowledge and skills required for further education, employment and life in an increasingly digital world.
As a result, students are not only successful in examinations but are also prepared to thrive in a technology-driven society and make positive contributions to their communities and future workplaces.
