Impact

The impact of the Careers curriculum is that students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to be able to participate in wider society. The curriculum for careers  along with  PDC helps students to understand and navigate a rapidly changing 21st Century world. This will enable students  to possess the cultural capital required to enable them to succeed in later life and to be able to make a positive contribution to society. Students will be prepared for the next step in their education and their later employment.

Our students progress into excellent destinations when they leave Oaklands. These include higher education, further education, apprenticeships, employment and training. The Careers Team at Oaklands’s stay in contact with students who have not secured a destination for September throughout the autumn term to offer advice and support where required.

  • Completion of the Activity Survey (through Hampshire Futures) and the results show progression post 16 and 18 and very  low NEET figures for the school.
  • Future First Alumni provides long term evidence of success stories of Oaklands students
