Dear parents and carers
Please find a useful link below to Net Aware which is a collaboration between the NSPCC and O2. This site was recommended on some recent safeguarding training led by police and social workers and there is an option for you to sign up to their newsletters.
Best wishes
Mrs Oldroyd
Deputy Head and Designated Safeguarding Lead

Dear Parents and Carers
Please find attached the presentation from the Year 7 evenings held in early October.  I am sending it out to all parents as the feedback we had was positive from those who came along. Parents said that having a quick guide to the school website, SMH, Tucasi , EPraise and the MyEd App was helpful so if you are still trying to find your way around these various sites we hope you find this of use.
Best wishes
Mrs Oldroyd

Dear Parents and Carers
I am pleased to announce that Oaklands is working in partnership with Lee Haywood who has been leading our recent CyberSafety presentations. Please find an introduction from Lee and the link to his website which will be updated regularly so that parents have a ‘one stop shop’ with all the latest information to help support in safeguarding our young people.
My name is Lee Haywood, I have spent 8 years in the Police specialising in the safeguarding of people, with a degree in Law and I am a CEOP (Child Exploitation Online Protection) Ambassador.
I am now following my belief that society needs more when it comes to safeguarding ourselves and primarily our children from the dangers online, whilst enjoying the wonders the internet has to offer.
If you are the kind of person who wants to keep up to date about the forever changing online world, someone who wants to get 'in the know' around what their children could be doing or someone that also believes we can make society a safer place together than this is the website for you and I may well be the person to get in touch with.
I will endeavour to offer every part of the community, including schools, as much help and information as possible, in the form of advice over email, presentations within the community and project work with you.
Best wishes
Mrs J. Oldroyd
Deputy Head and Designated Safeguarding Lead.
