Oaklands Parents' Association
The Oaklands Parents’ Association (OPA) are a group of parents and staff whose purpose is to raise funds to help provide those little extras that will benefit your children and enhance their time at Oaklands.
What we do:
We organise and run events throughout the year, including our major fundraiser, the Christmas Craft Fair. We are always present at Parents’ Evenings, school concerts, the Open Evening and the Year 7 Induction Evening serving refreshments. We regularly donate to various departments throughout the school and still saving more to donate to the next big school project.
Nearly New Uniform:
We have a large stock of nearly new uniform which is available for parents to browse and buy.
In response to feedback and to provide easier access for parents to buy nearly new uniform, we will be opening the nearly new uniform shop on the first Friday after each half term from 4.00 – 5.00pm. The shop is situated in the hall block and a price list can be found by clicking here.

We are very grateful to all parents who donate washed/ironed uniform to the school. Please continue to bring items in to Reception or via your child to Student Services. Additionally, we would like to ask for donations of any unwanted ski wear. We are hoping to start building up a stock of ski wear that could be resold and used again in support of the Oaklands annual ski trip. Please mark any donations for the attention of the OPA. We would also be happy to take these items at the shop on the days that they are manned. All funds raised will go towards school resources and projects that will benefit all of our children at Oaklands.
OPA Christmas Craft Fayre:
Our Christmas Craft Fayre is on Saturday 18 November and is a major fundraising event for the school.

How can you help?
There are several ways in which you can get involved in school life and help us to raise these valuable funds:
The OPA Committee:
The Committee consists for four elected officers who are ably supported by a dedicated group of around fifteen elected parents. We are actively seeking new committee members, so contact us if you would like to find out more. We meet once a month on the first Monday at 7.30pm, in the Sixth Form block.
The ‘A’ Team:
As well as our Committee, we are also fortunate to be able to rely on a network of parent
volunteers who help us at various functions; this is our ‘A’ Team who sell raffle tickets and serve refreshments. If you wish to be involved in events occasionally, without the commitment
of attending regular meetings, please contact us to add your name to our brilliant team!
Parents, staff and friends of Oaklands can purchase, for only £1, a number in our monthly draw; you may have as many numbers as you wish. Each month’s subscriptions are divided into two, one half allocated as a cash prize and the other half added to the OPA funds. Every month a draw is made and the winner will win the cash prize.
